4727 - Wearable Art - Wool Cowl

$125.00

I started my wool cowl series to work with texture, color and to further explore wearable art.

style: Bolero cowl

dimensions: 13” x 38”

material: 100% pure New Zealand Corriedale wool

color way: Black & Lake

care: hand wash in cool water with a mild neutral soap (I like olive oil soap) – do not agitate or wring out - hang flat to dry. Do NOT put in the dryer as this will cause further felting and the cowl will shrink tremendously.

each cowl is a unique art piece; wet felted by me in my studio

Hat pin is NOT included with the purchase of the cowl

Ashford wool sliver is 100% pure New Zealand wool. Their wool is grown on sheep farms in the South Island of New Zealand where sheep graze on large grassy paddocks and are free from mulesing. The only use wool with a good length that is free from breaks, has high bulk, brightness, low vegetable matter and is the correct micron. The owl is washed using a standard aqueous treatment with eco-friendly biodegradable detergent. Ashford has their own woolen mill in Milton and can ensure every process is to the highest standard. They start by dyeing the wool using ecologically safe Oeko-Tex compliant dyes, then steam dry, card, gill, comb and finally wind into bumps. The sliver is then ready to use with no waste or preparation.
